September 10, 1947 ~ March 7, 2026
It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Heather Violet Scarcello (nee Maule), age 78 years, peacefully at home on Saturday, March 7, 2026.
Heather was born on September 10, 1947 in Oshawa, Ontario to William and Bessie (nee Smith) Maule. Once in Thunder Bay, she worked at the City run Homes for the Aged in the Housekeeping Department as well as with the Union. Heather liked her job and the many friends she made throughout her career. Heather met the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Scarcello and they were married on July 8, 1985. Together, they enjoyed travelling all around the world, with Australia, New Zealand and Cuba being some of their favourite trips. Heather also loved antiquing and gardening, and was an avid collector of Chefs. She was a huge animal lover, and in her quiet time liked to play Solitaire on her Ipad. She also enjoyed the Celtic Women and Celtic Thunder groups. Heather was Secretary Treasurer for the Thunder Bay Railway Historical Society. Her big heart and kindness will never be forgotten, and the memories we are left with will remain with us always.
Heather is survived by her husband of 41 years, Bob Scarcello; her sons John Cross and Will Cross; grandson Eric McCollum; brother Tom Maule and niece Isabella Maule. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law Tom (Sherry), David (Debbie) and Don (Lea) Scarcello, as well as numerous extended relatives, and her beloved canine companion, Maggie.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Bessie Maule; brother Bill Maule; and sister-in-law Helga Maule.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Heather's Life will be held at a later date. Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Heather to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society,
Canadian Cancer Society or a
Charity of Your Choice would be greatly appreciated.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
