HELEN KROKER Obituary

KROKER
In loving memory of (Cecelia) Helen Kroker, age 81 years, who passed away peacefully at TBRHSC, Thunder Bay, on Friday, February 28, 2025.

Helen is survived by her brother Gordon in Australia, sister-in-law Zofia, nieces Stasia and Genia, nephew Jake and his partner Amanda, niece Kasia, and nephew Matthew. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Jake; sister Jeanie; brothers Norman (sister-in-law Stasia), Richard, and Robert; as well as Fr. Larry Kroker S.J. and Brian.

Helen loved needlepoint, ceramics and was a dedicated respite caregiver who took great joy in caring for individuals with special needs. She found fulfillment in making her beautiful angels and was deeply devoted to her faith, which kept her strong. She was a permanent member of the Christian Life Community and a dedicated member of the Thunder Bay Oramus Community. Helen received a Wesway Volunteer Award for 10,000 hours of service and served as Board Chair for 10 years. She was a great mentor and friend to many.

As per Helen's wishes, cremation has taken place.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, when family and friends will gather for the Funeral Mass at St. Kateri Church, 451 Syndicate Ave. N. at 12:00 p.m., celebrated by Rev. Fr. Gerry McDougall S.J. and Fr. Biju Mathew. Interment will follow the reception at St. Andrew's Cemetery.

A special thank-you to Fr. Gerry McDougall S.J., Fr. Biju Mathew, the 2A nursing staff, Dr. Boake, and all the dedicated doctors who cared for Helen. Deep gratitude is also extended to her nurse, Kathleen, and all the Bayshore workers who provided care over the years. Words cannot express our appreciation.

Heartfelt thanks to Penny Fitzpatrick and Patricia Donahue, C.L.C., for all their prayers, support, and kindness.

If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Helen's name can be made to the Jesuits of Canada, St. Kateri Church, or a Charity of Your Choice.
