Helen McConnell Obituary

Helen May McConnell (nee Jones) passed away peacefully on Monday, July 7th, 2014. Born June 28, 1920 in Fort William now Thunder Bay. Attended FWCI and trained for nursing at McKellar General Hospital winning the prize for paediatrics. She was a long time member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church and pastoral visitor. Survived by daughter Jane and son David, grandchildren Paul (Joanne), Helen (Shawn), David (Kristen), Bob, Jennifer and James, great grandchildren Alyssa and Sophia, sister Margaret (Gord). Predeceased by her husband Bruce McConnell, her parents May (Reid) Jones and Thomas G. Jones, brothers Tom and Jim (Bea), sisters Irma (Ed) and Gwen (Bill). Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 2pm on July 10th in the Jasper Place dining room, 1200 Jasper Drive, Thunder Bay. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation or TBRHSC would be appreciated.On-line condolencesmay be made through www.nwfainc.com"
