January 2, 1922 - May 2, 2014 Rev. Deacon, Mr. Howard McEachern, age 92 years, passed away peacefully at his residence on Friday, May 2, 2014. Howard was born in Fort William on January 2, 1922. He was employed by the Chronicle Journal for nearly 40 years, first as a Pressman and later as a Foreman until his retirement in 1986. On January 26, 1992, Howard was ordained and became a Deacon at Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church. He was a past director of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member of the Knights of Columbus, past president of Staff Association at the Chronicle Journal and a member of the Northern Notes Barbershop Chorus. Howard had a passion and love for old cars and was also a lifetime member of the Antique Car Club of Thunder Bay Howard was always willing to give a hand to anyone in need. He was dearly loved and will be missed by all who knew him. Howard is survived by his wife of 65 years, Anna (nee Reszitnyk); children Gerald (Sharon), Maureen (Greg) Reid and Judy (Eric) Harju; daughter-in-law Susan; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was predeceased by his son Dan; parents Neil and Theresa McEachern; sisters Patricia, Fran, Violet, Wilda, Verdi and Margaret and brothers Jack and Doug. Funeral Services for the late Mr. Howard McEachern will be held on Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at 10:30AM in Corpus Christi Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00PM until 8:00PM in the Everest Funeral Chapel.
