Ida Pucci

1932 - 2019

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Mrs. Ida Pucci announces her peaceful passing on Sunday, August 4, 2019 in Pioneer Ridge at the age of 86 with her family at her side.

Ida was born in Rende, Cosenza, Italy on September 13, 1932 to Emilio and Filomena Bruno. In 1958 Ida met and married her soul-mate Vittorio. He came to Canada shortly thereafter preparing for the arrival of his new wife - who joined him in Port Arthur in 1959. Together, they had three wonderful daughters Toni, Eva and Dina. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She doted on them, always making sure they had something to eat. She was the centre of our family, spending countless hours on the phone with family and friends from around the world, keeping everyone connected. Her home was the gathering place, birthdays, holidays, graduations, or any other occasion, her door was open to everyone. Ida loved cooking and baking for family and friends. She was a talented seamstress, making matching outfits for her girls when they were young, and many other projects. She was also a member of the Italian Ladies Society of Port Arthur.

Survived by her 3 daughters, Toni (Dale) Siciliano, Eva Pucci, Dina (Gord) Yeo; 5 grandchildren, Daniel, Julia, Ashley (Aaron), Alyssa and Sarah; siblings, Mario Bruno, Vittoria Varney, Alfredo (Lina) Bruno, Tony (Anna-Maria) Bruno and Sarina (Franco) Lio; in-laws, Teresa (Carmen) Fata, Nella (Pasquale) Bruno-Bossio, Salvatore (Cathy) Pucci and Fiore (Lina) Pucci as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other
relatives in Canada and Italy.

Predeceased by her beloved husband, Vittorio (2011), her parents Emilio and Filomena Bruno; siblings, Francis (Nick) Bloom and Nino Bruno; in-laws Giuseppe and Antonia Pucci, Emilio Pucci, Rosa Bruno and Arnie Varney.

Heartfelt thank you to the Staff of Pioneer Ridge – Plaza 3 for their excellent and attentive care during Mom's time there. Your compassion will never be forgotten.

Funeral services for the late Mrs. Ida Pucci will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 with family and friends gathering in St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church for the Funeral Mass at 2:30pm. Entombment to follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held in the church beginning at 1:30pm Friday.

Should friends so desire, donations to the Arthritis Society or a charity of choice would be greatly appreciated.
