INES BLACK Obituary

Born and raised in the East End of Fort William, Ines Black (Curtola) lived a life filled with warmth, grace, and an endless sparkle. A devoted member of the Catholic Women's League, she gave her time and heart to her faith and community. With her infectious smile, shining eyes, and grateful heart, Ines shared her gentle soul with everyone she met.

During her stay in the hospital, Ines faced her journey with strength and grace, gifting her family precious time to share stories, laughter, and love before her passing on October 15th, 2025. The three great joys of her life were her children David (Jane) Black, Louise (Bruce) Iwasa, and Peter Black along with her cherished grandchildren: David Jr. (Steph), Michael (Emma), Kai (Faith), Mason (Carah), Jen (Eric) and Peter Jr. (Leah), who lovingly called her Nona. She was also blessed with two great-granddaughters, Rowan and Harriet. Her beloved nieces, Carol and Susan, shared a special bond with "Nene" bringing laughter and light to her life.

A heartfelt thank you to very special friends Pamela (Keith), and Marian who were very dear to her heart. Ines is predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter; her parents, Emilio and Louisa Curtola, her sister and best friend, Zita (Bill); her brothers Johnny (Mary) and Art (Janet); and her beloved daughter-in-law Maureen Black. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Sister Leila Greco for their utmost care and compassion throughout her 13 years of residence with a special thank you to Jenny and Nancy. Additionally, the 4N staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for their compassionate care. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.

Now, Ines is dancing once again with the love of her life, Peter together forever, just as they were meant to be.

Louise and family:
My deepest condolences. Your mother was truly a gentle soul. I would sometimes encounter her ( she was always "dressed to the nines") on her walks in the area of Leila Greco, and it was always a pleasure to talk to her and reminisce. Again, my deepest sympathy.
