On Thursday, April 19, 2018, Ingrid Boissoneau (Ede), (nee Kunze), of Marathon had her loving family say tearful good byes as she departed at St. Joseph's Hospital, Thunder Bay. She was 81 years old. Ingrid was born in Germany in 1936, she immigrated to Canada in 1954 as a young teen with her mother and sister, to join her father in Fort William. Ingrid married her 1st husband Maurice Ede in 1960 and started a family that included their two daughters Maureen and Astrid, in Fort William. She worked as a hairdresser during her early years and owing her own shop at home. After her hairdressing career, she worked at various jobs through out her life. Ingrid loved sports as a girl and carried that with her to adulthood. Throughout her life she enjoyed downhill skiing, cross country skiing, golfing, swimming, waterskiing, walking, knitting, needle point and she was a very passionate gardener, her garden was her treasure. Later in her life Ingrid moved to Marathon. She began her new life when she met Herbert Boissoneau. They married in 2006. They enjoyed golfing, gardening, traveling and just spending time together. Left to cherish her memory are her hus-band Herb, her daughters Maureen (Terry) of Atikokan and Astrid of Alberta. Step-daughter Angela, step-sons Greg and Herb and step-grandsons Gregory Jr., and Cody, all of Sault Ste. Marie. Nephews Brant (Debbie) of Thunder Bay and Ralph (Tammy) of Thunder Bay. Also left behind are many dear friends. She was pre-deceased by her parents Wilhelm and Irmgard, her sister Gabriele (Gaby), her 1st husband Maurice. Ingrid will truly be missed. A celebration of life for Ingrid was held on May 5, in Marathon. A celebration of life in Thunder Bay for Ingrid will be held at a later date.

Dear Herb and family. So sorry to hear about your loss. I will so miss talking to Ingrid. I have so many memories of her. She cooked for me, did my hair, we walked together which was the best. She was there when I needed her. Once again I will miss her. She will always be in my heart.
