Irene Warren Obituary
June 8, 1942 ~ Oct. 29, 2006 Irene's courageous spirit carried her through countless losses and has inspired not only her family but everyone she met. Her creative talent was released when she took up painting shortly after the death of her daughter. Irene enjoyed being physically active and pursued a variety of activities throughout her life including running Aunties Weekly Flea Market with her sister-in-law Alma, league bowling, swimming, walking, weight lifting. She participated in the annual "Run for Women " many times with her nieces, daughters and granddaughter. She took up golfing and spent many enjoyable days on the links with her husband, Allan, family and friends. Irene also looked forward to volunteering at the Strathcona Men's Annual Invitational Golf tournament. Spending time with her family brought Irene pleasure regardless of the activity. She spent many happy summers at Cedar Bay on Lake Superior. Irene's last two years were filled with both sorrows and joy. The loss of family and the pain caused by her cancer did not diminish the joy her grandchildren brought her, especially the most recent birth of her grandchild, Jadyn. Irene had many close relationships with her family, particularly her nieces Min and Pat and her sister-in-laws Diane and Alma. She was always glad to see Tanner and Avery, Christopher, Amanda and Jonathan. Irene is sadly missed by her husband of 47 years, Allan, daughters Virginia (Jeff), and Alanna Capar (Richard), son Trevor (Mary); brothers Albert Lehtonen (Oneida), Paul Liima. Her grandchildren Tyler Grant (Nicole), Christopher, Brady and Kenneth Rand, Jadyn Warren, Dylan Capar and granddaughter Kaylee (Lance) Campbell. Also survived by mother-in-law Georgina Kaukinen, sister-in-laws Diane Watson and Lynda Warren (Mike) and Donna Lehtonen. Also survived by her niece and life-long friend, Pat Kinner, good friends Dave and Belinda Robertson and Barry and Aggie Almos and Irene's cat Nokia.
