Mr. Jack Penagin, age 56 years, resident of Gull Bay, passed away peacefully with family by his side at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Center on Monday April 25, 2005. Born in Gull Bay, he spent his younger years there and later owned and operated the local gas station "Jack and Paul's Variety Store". He was a Band Councilor for 8 years, Alcohol Councilor, medical driver and worked in the bush camps. Jack had a passion for Country and Western music and Gospel music. He set up tent meetings and the 1st of July activities at Gull Bay. He enjoyed singing Karaoke and playing guitar, and arranged many baseball tournaments, bingo games and local dances for the community.Survived by his wife Monica at home, sons Jack Jr. (Adrienne), Paul (Ashley), Peter, Byron (Marsha); daughters Maria, Mary, Karen, step-daughter Cynthia (Kyle) Barry. Brothers Joseph (Nancy), Mike, Steve (Cecilia); sister Nora (Oliver) Penagin. Numerous grand-children, nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive.Predeceased by his parents Dominic and Nora, brothers Duncan, Peter, and Leonard Kwissisen. Funeral services for the late Mr. Jack Penagin will be held in Gull Bay on Monday May 2, 2005, with interment in Gull Bay Cemetery. An evening gathering for family and friends will be held Thursday evening (TONIGHT) from 6:00 to 8:00 pmin the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL 299 Waverley St. at Algoma.
