Oh my, just this weekend, I was serving lunch to some guests and I remarked that the soup bowls they were eating out of were made by Jake Black, & turned the bowls over to show his signature. He was a teacher of mine at Kingsway school and I remember him well. He was such a nice man. I had him as a teacher at Kingsway Park School. I do remember too that he sang in the FW Male Choir - and I had the opportunity several times of bumping into him & his wife Joan. They are now together. Two wonderful people. My condolences to his son & his family. Mr. Black, as I called him, was a genuine gentleman. I am so sorry for your loss. Carla Marie *WARDER* Kowalchuk

I worked with Jake at Westgate for several years until his retirement and always enjoyed listening to shared experiences from his many years in the classroom. My condolences to Gary and his family.

Jake Black taught pottery to seniors and he was exceptional. We became friends and he made urns for my mother and husband and for me. We have lost a kind, wonderful, caring man. My heartfelt condolences to his family.

The world has lost a great man. Jake was my pottery teacher and friend. Many hours were spent with the two of us making pots and sharing stories about ourselves and our families; he was so proud of his family . I am so fortunate to be able to call this wonderful human my friend. Thank you so much for leaving a little bit of your art and pottery legacy with so many people Earth side.
