Mrs Jacqueline Paradis, age 71 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away unexpectedly at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on July 29, 2011. Born on August 15, 1939 in Barrie, Ontario, she was raised in Fort William and spent several years residing in Longlac and Geraldton, Ontario. Jackie is survived by her three children; Katherine Krienke and Laura Millar of Thunder Bay and David Millar of Ottawa. Grandchildren: David Krienke, Kenneth Millar, Kevin Roach and Cody Millar. Great Grandchildren: Riley & Devin Krienke and Taslim & Kingston Millar and Brandy. Siblings; Bill (Virginia) Conway, Melvin ( Betty) Swerhun, Fred (Tabatha) Swerhun and Emily ( Michael) Van Voris, best friends Melvin Swerhun and Marlene Grasely plus numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Ron Paradis, grandaughter Bambi Millar, and parents, Marion Swerhun & Rex Conway, and sister Bonnie. Jackie was adored by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Her greatest loves were her family, animals, fishing, gardening and Christmas and her passions included; baking, cooking, bingo and camping. Shortly after losing her husband while residing in Geraldton, she returned to Thunder Bay where she lived out the rest of her days enjoying Riley and Devon. Special thanks to the family members from out of town who were able to attend; Emily & Mike Van Voris & family, Jocelyn (Doug) Conway and Kenny ( Kayla) Millar & family, and those in our thoughts who were unable to attend; Rose (Mike) Zeig, David & Taslim Millar, Marlene Grasely and Sam Cohen. Also, much gratitude to the hospital staff; Richard and Jackie and the doctors from IMCU floor. Mom had too many special friends and acquaintances to mention, and in this time of grieving, our family would like to apologize if we have failed to mention you all. At this time of loss and grieving, it is a heartfelt gift to myself and my family to have family and friends gather and share this journey together. A very special thank you to my son David, Emily& family, Bill & family, Kenny & family, Tiffany, Fred & family, Dr. Barry Armstrong for his compassion, care and support, and our wonderful neighbours. Cremation has taken place. As Jackie wished, no services will be held. A private gathering for family and close friends has taken place and an open gathering for friends and family to celebrate her life will be planned and announced in the near future. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations to the Thunder Bay Humane Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. On-line condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com "
