James Christie Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James David Christie age 68 years passed away in St. Joseph's Hospital April 5th, 2021. Born November 5, l952 in Fort William, raised and educated in Thunder Bay. He was employed at Palm Dairies and Beatrice before owning his own business delivering dairy products. Two of his employees were his nephews, Andrew and Graham Hackner. He retired from his business in 2007. Jim also enjoyed curling. He was a member of the Fort William Curling Club for many years. He also was a volunteer at curling events. He liked to spend his summers golfing and camping with family and friends. Making golf trips and vacations. He was a person who loved to socialize with friends and family always enjoying a good laugh. He especially liked a good game of Eucre. Jim loved to cook specializing in his chicken and dumpling stew that everyone loved to eat. Before his illness he had a small vegetable garden with a variety of yummy vegetables. He was an avid reader of books, his favorite authors were John Grisham, Steven King. Jim kept his positive attitude enjoying one day at a time. Predeceased by his parents Charles and Dorothy Christie, father-in-law Anthony Hackner, nephew Graham Hackner. Survived by and will be missed by his wife Debra and daughter Natalie (Chris) Wojtowicz and his mother-in-law Lillian Hackner. Also survived by siblings Nancy Christie, Toronto, Jane Morrison, Victoria, Kate Christie (Andy) Mcdonald, Calgary, brother-in-law Al Hackner (Marg), Thunder Bay, David Hackner, Edmonton. Also survived by nieces, Bella, Heidi, Chandra, Kerry Lyn, nephews, Andrew, Brian and Jesse. Cremation has taken place and a memorial for friends and family will be held at a later date.

I'm So sad in Jim's passing ,he fought so hard that ALS and he always had a smile for us .I was amazed at how he kept his spirits up throughout his suffering. God Bless you Jim. R.I.P.
