It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of James DePaola. Beloved by many, Jimmy touched the lives of his dearest friends, family, and union brothers of Boilermakers Local 128 with his vibrant personality, bright smile, and wild sense of humour. He had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and cherished time spent fishing and camping with his loved ones.
Since an early age, Jamie was very passionate and expressed himself with large personality. His bright wit and zealous temperament made him unforgettable to those he met. He was always fast to bring laughter to a room. Around the house, around the fire, in a boat, or hanging out in the garage; time spent with James was a thrilling adventure, a hilarious story, a cherished memory.
As we grieve and suffer the loss of James, we can find lasting joy and comfort in these memories.
James will be deeply missed by all his family and friends. He is survived by his son Ashton Madge, grandparents Joe and Violet DePaola, Aunt Donna and Uncle Jim Collings, brothers Anthony, Troy, and Cal. Sisters Hope, Danielle, Uncle Chris and Aunt Charmaine, Uncle Sam, John, and cousins Ashley and Dustin DePaola.
James is predeceased by his mother, Eleanor DePaola-Martel and father, Clark Cano. Grandparents Mona and Stan Cano, Grandpa Collings. Great grandparents Sam and Eleanor DePaola; James and Mildred Fratton. Uncle Ron Fratton, Lance Collings.
Cremation will take place and a funeral mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours Parish in Terrace Bay on Tuesday, May 30th at 11am.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 7 Mill Road in Terrace Bay on Tuesday, May 30th at 4-7pm.

We grew up together, all of the DePaola & Collings kids. Both families were like family to us, Arsenault kids. Such sad news when we hear someone has passed from back home, but you were more like family to us james! Hope you're resting in Paradise buddy and that you're always catching that giant fish! At 28 years old, I went back to high school to get my grade 12. Guess who was in my math class? Such a lovely young man James was. Was blessed to call him my friend from then on. My deepest sympathies to his family.
