James William "Jim" Diakow

1941 - 2023

On January 16th, 2023, James (Jim) William Diakow, loving husband, father, grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 81. Jim was born on July 16th, 1941 in Geraldton, Ontario to William and Catherine.

Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, dancing, travelling, playing cards and making and flying his model airplanes. After retiring as a Millwright from Bowater (Great Lakes Paper), he also enjoyed playing violin with the Senior Music Makers Band. Jim was a kind and gentle soul who would help anyone. Gigi could always be found playing and having fun wherever the kids and pets were.

Jim will be deeply missed by his loving wife Pat; his daughters Cathy (Joe) Rigato, Jeannie (Allan) Cooper and Tammy Lefrancois; grandchildren Nicole (Steve), Darren (Jen), Kate (Charles), Sara (Matt); great grandson James & future great granddaughter (due February); brother Larry (Joanne); nephew Stephen (Amber) and many other nieces and nephews.

Jim was predeceased by his parents William & Catherine, in laws Stanley & Tillie Cheresniowski, granddaughter Alex Brianna Cooper, and son in law Adrien Lefrancois.

A service will be held at Jenkens Funeral Home on Monday, January 23rd, 2023 at 10:30am with visitation beginning at 10:00am with Rev. Brooke Belliveau officiating.
