James Everett Obituary

(aka Rooster)
Mr. James Harold Everett, age 79 years, passed away suddenly on April 6th, 2017 at TBRHSC. Born in Thunder Bay, ON January 11th, 1938. James was a lifetime resident of Murillo, ON , growing up on the family farm. James worked numerous jobs out of town before getting the job with Oliver Township, which kept him closer to home. He was employed for 29+ years for the Oliver-Paipoonge Township operating heavy equipment. His interests included fishing, hunting, hockey and baseball which he played and was a coach for many years for the ladies fastball league. He also was an avid reader of many western books with his favourite author being Louis L'Amour. His favourite hockey team was the Toronto Maple leafs and baseball team was the Toronto Blue Jays. James was always ready to give a helping hand to anyone who needed it. Upon retiring from the Oliver Township he was kept busy by cutting neighbours lawns, snow-plowing and even cutting firewood when needed. He was a true friend to many, a loving and super brother and an awesome uncle who spoiled his nieces and nephews. James is survived by his sisters: Lillian Jantunen, Helmi (Fred) Brinson, Wasaga Beach, en route, Jeannie Sitch and Darlene Berube; brother Bill (Seija) Everett; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, as well. He was predeceased by his parents Martha and Victor Everett, brothers Arvo Wirta, Toivo Wirta and Peter Everett; sisters Violet Kuurila and Myrtle Everett; brothers-in-law Edwin Jantunen and Ron Sitch.

A Celebration of Life for James will take place on April 15th, 2017 in the Murillo Town Hall at 1:00pm. Memorial donations to a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

The family would like to thank nurses Amy and Katie, Dr. McCluskey and Dr. Kim for their excellent care of our brother and uncle on 3A at TBRHSC.
