JAMES GREGOR Obituary

August 25, 1978 - November 3, 2025
It is with profound sadness and absolute heartbreak that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved son, father, brother, nephew, cousin and friend James Daniel Gregor. Jimmy is survived by his parents Dan and Debbie Gregor. His sister Terri Jeanson (Kevin), niece and nephew Quinn and Chase. The loves of his life, his four children, Grace, Zoe, Gavin and Sadie-Jane and by their mothers Jennifer and Marlice, his partner and soulmate. He will be remembered and loved by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Jim spent the past 14 years working as an engineer at the Howe Sound Pulp and Paper Company, Port Mellon, BC. He was instrumental in establishing the first union in BC for mill management where he worked, and helped other mills across the province achieve the same.

A self-taught guitar player, Jim wrote countless songs and loved performing at numerous venues in Gibsons, sometimes with his daughter Grace and son Gavin singing along with him. Music brought him joy, and he shared that joy freely with everyone around him.

No matter what was happening in life, Jim always had the biggest heart and the tightest bear hug to match.

He is predeceased by his grandparents Walter and Betty Gregor, Donald and Shirley Haggerty and his uncle, Greg McIntosh.

We take comfort in knowing that Jim is no longer hurting, and that he's now playing his guitar and singing for all in heaven.

Cremation has taken place with the spreading of his ashes at his favourite beach in Gibsons. A Celebration of Life will be held in the Spring of 2026 in Gibsons, BC.

In lieu of flowers an education fund has been established for Jim's children Grace, Zoe, Gavin and Sadie-Jane and donations can be made at any Bank of Montreal. The account is setup at The Bank of Montreal, 1510 St.Mary's Road, Winnipeg, MB, Branch Transit #00797, account #8912-622.
