James (Jim) Mikulinski passed away peacefully at Hogarth Riverview Manor at the age of 76, with Lydia by his side holding hands on Tuesday, September 9 under a full moon, a gentle breeze and 2 ships in the harbour. From 1971-1975, Jim lived in North Bay and London, Ontario where he worked for several engineering companies as a draftsman. Moving back to Thunder Bay he worked for Lakehead Board of Education teaching at several High Schools. While teaching at Hammarskjold High School in the 70's, he helped coach the Jr. Basketball team to become winners for the Northwestern Ontario Championships. Jim also coached the Nordic Ski Team to be winners for three consecutive years, along with coaching the Alpine Ski Team to respectable finishes. Jim worked from 1986-1991 for Greyhound Bus Lines. He was a member of the Temple Reef Sailing Club, Ontario Association, Thunder Bay Yacht Club, Sail Thunder Bay, holding different executive positions. Jim was also a member of the Kakabeka Flying Club, volunteered for Air Search & Rescue as a navigator and pilot. Jim enjoyed sailing, flying, photography, playing league pool and camping. Jim is predeceased by his parents Joseph and Helen Mikulinski, and brother Dan on August 30, 2025. Survived by his common-law spouse Lydia Mascarin, step-daughter Shannon Mascarin and brother Tom Mikulinski (Lynn) as well as nieces and nephews. Thank you to the staff on 7 North Trillium Hogarth Riverview Manor for Jim's sometimes complex care, and especially his "Dream Team". Please remember Jim as the free spirit that he was and his love for adventures.

Till we meet again.
