Jamie Lapointe Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Mr. Jamie Lapointe on January 28, 2013. After a short but courageous battle with cancer, Jamie passed away peacefully with his family by his side. Born in Fort William, on August 5, 1957, he was a proud member of the 'Lapointe Clan' from Westfort. Jamie was employed by the City of Thunder Bay, Roads Department, for the last 17 years, where many friendships were created. He was very well known for his compassion and caring nature for all those he met. Jamie had many interests and excelled at all of them. He was known for his keen shot as a pool shark and would take on any bet to win the game. He had great musical abilities and a natural ear for music. Whether it was the harmonica, piano or guitar, within minutes he could entertain you with a song. He loved all sports, but his main interests were hockey and baseball. Many of his brothers were influenced by his love of the game, and followed in his footsteps. Jamie will be sadly missed and forever loved by his son Cody, siblings Frankie (Carole), Donnie (Donna), Ronnie (Kathy), Denese (Brooks), Patty, Terry (Cathy), Randy (Corinna) and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his mother and father, Iris and Denes. The family would like to extend a big thank you to Dr. Miller and the nursing staff at TBRHSC 2B.A celebration of Jamie's life will be held at St Paul's Anglican Church (808 Ridgeway St. E.) on Friday February 1st, 2013 at 11am, officiated by Archdeacon Deborah Kraft. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to ProKids or a charity of your choice."
