JANE A. GRESHUK (Neill) May 12, 1964 - October 8, 2025 Jane A. Greshuk (Neill), age 61, passed away peacefully at the TBRHSC on October 8, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born on May 12, 1964, in Port Arthur, Jane attended Algonquin Public School and Hillcrest High School before studying Medical Secretarial at Confederation College. Her first job at Fort Optical sparked a lifelong passion for the optical industry. She went on to work for Drs. Long & Hrychuk and later at Ham's Optical, where she remained until her illness forced her into retirement.
Jane had a zest for life and a love for knitting, crocheting, dancing, and gardening. Her most recent knitting project (100+ dishcloths for Neil and Breanna's wedding) reflected her generous spirit.
She met the love of her life, Jim, at Shebandowan Lake, where they spent many happy years with their children enjoying the outdoors boating, kneeboarding, fishing, and quadding. A true social butterfly, Jane gave back to her community by volunteering at the Shebandowan Pie Sale, selling MS 50/50 tickets, helping organize Ham's Vision for Hope, and fundraising for the Run for the Cure.
Family was always Jane's top priority. She was deeply involved in her children's lives and proudly supported their interests and accomplishments. She often joked that she held honourary diplomas in Recreation Therapy, Early Childhood Education, and Automotive Technician. Her granddaughters, Lucy and Lauren, were the light of her life, and she cherished every moment spent with them.
Jane will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 37 years, Jim; her children Sharon Greshuk, Diane (Jesse) Haveman (Lucy, Lauren), and Neil (Breanna) Greshuk; sister Kathy (Jay) Neill-Etheridge and brother Robert (Jennifer) Neill; brothers-in-law John Greshuk and Richard (Patty-Lou) Greshuk; as well as aunts, uncle, nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Kathleen Neill, and her in-laws, Walter and Lillian Greshuk.
The family extends heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff on 1A; NP Nakita; Dr. Al-Katari; Dr. Oyella; Dr. Aseyev and Dr. Anthes.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 11:00am, at Westminster United Church, 650 River Street, with Rev. Steve Loweth officiating. In honour of Jane's vibrant spirit, guests are invited to wear bright colours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Northern Cancer Fund or the MS Society of Canada.
