He passed as he lived, on his own terms. Mr. John Peter Donald Corston, age 65 years, of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at the TBRHSC on July 20, 2022. He was born in Port Arthur on September 21, 1956. In 1963 the family moved to Hillsport, ON, then Stevens and Caramat, on the then American Can Woodlands. Jamie received his education at local schools and Geraldton Composite High School. Jamie worked as a machine operator and mechanic but mostly identified as a truck driver. He loved fishing, a good party and campfires. As his COPD progressed, made worse by the ravages of COVID-19, Jamie chose to medically end his life. Jamie is survived by his mother Hellen, sisters Sharon, and Susan Lokstet, and brother Robert, wife Marie Salmonson and her granddaughter Jessie, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was predeceased by his father William Corston, brother Bryan in infancy, brother-in-law Brian Lokstet, and grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. As per his wishes, there will be no service. A family Interment will be held in Riverside Cemetery at 1:00 pm, August 18, 2022, with Archdeacon Deborah Kraft officiating. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the TBRHSC, the TCU and Bethammi Nursing Home for the excellent care of Jamie, and MAID Team for the professionalism and respectfulness of his passing. If you desire, a donation to the Canadian Lung Association, or a Charity of Your Choice, would be greatly appreciated by the family.

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I realize this is way belated, but i have only just found this obit. I only knew Jimmy for 20 some years, but we got along pretty good. If he needed a hand I was there, and if I did he was too. I never met any other of his family members, but im sure we all will miss him. I never knew that he had siblings until about 2 months before his passing, but he was honoured (his words) that his sister held bed watch over him and he always spoke highly of his mother. I am sorry for your loss, but at least he suffers no more.My most sincere condolences.

You were always a positive voice in my ear when times got a little rough, and a good friend right to the end! I thank you for being a friend that shot straight from the hip, and called a spade a spade! You were kind and respectful right to the end, and I thank you for the honesty, always. I enjoyed our friendship, and want to tell you that you will be missed Jimmy. Your suffering is over, and you can now fly free. Enjoy your pain free time flying high above the clouds. Please give a big hug to all those gone before us, and keep an eye on my boy Ryan for me Jimmy.
Love you my friend, and you will be missed!
