Joanne Wetelainen-Morris Obituary
The family of Joanne Margaret Wetelainen-Morris regret to inform you of Joanne's passing on March 25, 2006 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Centre, surrounded by her family. She was 48 years old. Joanne was born on September 18, 1957 in Dryden, Ontario to Henry and Edeline Wetelainen. She grew up in Dinorwic until she was three years old and then in Wabigoon, which she resided until her death. Joanne is survived by her loving husband James Morris; sons Kelvin and Spencer (Amanda) Morris; grandchildren Dakota, Julia, John George and Niedra; parents Henry and Edeline Wetelainen; sisters Sandra and Karen Wetelainen and Leah Gardner; brothers Henry, Glen and Carey Wetelainen. Joanne's nieces and nephews were very dear to her; Crystal, Kimberley, Jade, Michael, Clayton, Evan, Everett, Wade, Jason, Kyle and Cody. Joanne is also survived by her grandmother Josephine Cone; her mother-in-law Jemima Morris and 'special' sister Elizabeth Hill. Numerous relatives will mourn Joanne, as well. Predeceasing Joanne, was her daughter Karen Lisa Morris in 1984 and nephew Damon Wetelainen. Pallbearers for Joanne were her nephews; Jason Romas, Jade Gardner, Clayton, Everett, Michael, and Evan Wetelainen with Wade Wetelainen as her Honourary Pallbearer. Visitation took place from Tuesday, March 28th, 2006 until service time on Thursday, March 30th, 2006 at the Wabigoon Metis Centre with Mr. Ted Renaud and Elder Robert Kelly officiating. Internment followed at the Wabigoon Cemetery. If friends so desire, donations may be made to the Sioux Lookout First Nation Health Authority for Children at Risk through Dryden Community Funeral Home 249 Grand Trunk Ave. , Dryden, ON P8N 2X3. All who knew and loved her will forever miss Joanne."
