John Bylund Obituary

April 23, 1968 –
January 28, 2022

The family of John Bylund is very sad to announce his passing on January 28, 2022 at his home in Prince George, BC following a fall and several illnesses.

John was born April 23, 1968 in Fort Frances, ON to Jack and Elaine Bylund. The following year the family moved to Thunder Bay where John grew up. He attended Churchill High School where he became a national level wrestler. He continued to wrestle when he attended university in Regina and Winnipeg. In 1994 he moved to Prince George where he worked at various jobs in industrial sales and service, most recently for Snap On Tools.

John was a proud and involved father to his children, Jack and Dana, and his step children, Braiden and Kaylee. He loved sports especially the Ottawa Senators, had coached wrestling and was recently involved with Jack's football. John's friends were an important part of his life. He was always there when someone needed help and appreciated their help in return. He will be remembered for his love of a good steak and a good time. Cheers Johnny. OX

John is survived by his children Jack and Dana, his wife Brandy, stepchildren, Braiden and Kaylee, his parents Jack and Elaine Bylund, sister Karen (Jerry) Mercier, niece Amanda (Tyler), nephew Jared, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

If desired, donations can be made to a cancer charity. Alternatively, education funds will be set up for Jack and Dana. Contributions can be sent via e-transfer to [email protected].

A Celebration of Life will be arranged in the future.

Elaine and Jack, we are very sorry to learn that your son John has passed away. He went all through school about the same time as our children, and was on the wrestling team with Wayne. He and Brain kept in touch on Facebook. Blessings to you at this sad time.
