I have many great memories of John and Helen. I met them when they built their new home on the mountain. They had purchased windows from my company and had some minor issues. John was such a gentleman and we became friends. I spent many hours with them when I was in Thunder Bay during my evening off hours. I always looked forward to a trip to the city as I could spend some pleasant hours with both.
Later when I married and my children came along I proudly brought them by on the odd vacation to Thunder Bay. We were always received with joy.
One of my best memories is going skiing with John. He was a professional and I was just learning. We were at the black run on Loch Lomond. He just went straight down expecting me to follow. I barely managed the first part took my skis off and walked the rest. He was 73 and I was 30! He was polite enough not to laugh too hard! A really good memory.
My wife and I will miss him. It was our intention to visit this summer coming 2020.
We know John left a great legacy and give our heartfelt condolences to the Family.

Our deepest condolences in the passing of your husband , dad ,grandpa and great grandpa. We will remember him sailing on lake shebandowan til a ripe old age. He would tell us of life at shebandowan when he was a young man and dancing in the old bunkie at our place. Sincerely Don amd Kate Stasiuk
