Thunder Bay Chef du Cuisine (ret) Sept 7, 1930 - March 22, 2012 After being born and raised in Redditt, Ontario, BUD joined the Armed Forces and learned his Culinary Craft. In 1969 he opened the new Lakehead University Kitchen and then served as Executive Chef at Port Arthur General Hospital, as well as, other establishments throughout Northern Ontario. He retired as a Chef-Instructor in Kenora, Ontario. Later John resided in Sioux Lookout, then Thunder Bay until his passing.John was predeceased by his parents John & Jane, sisters Helen (Toots) and Elaine & son-in-law Wayne Durkee.Survived by his sister Beatrice, sons John (Jo-Ann), Michael, Randy (Wanda), Stuart (Yvonne); daughter Lesley Durkee; grandchildren Tim, Jessica, Erica (Casey), Jennifer (Andrew), Nikki, Kyle, Raquel, Taylor and Jaimee.A celebration of John's Life will be held at Jasper Lodge, 1200 Jasper Drive on Tuesday, March 27th, at 2:00 pm.
