John Day Obituary

Born 1933 – Reborn 2018

Our Dad, but Jack to some. Our hearts go out to you Dad.

Mr. John Simpson Day has peacefully passed away the morning of October 17, 2018 at St. Joseph's Hospital. After battling numerous and continuous ailments over the past 13 years, he finally succumbed to the repeated calls from all the brothers and sisters to come join them in their new life. John enjoyed outdoor activities of any kind, more so than indoor. He always stayed busy, especially with hobbies involving woodwork, carpentry, house renovations and more. He was always willing to offer advice and assistance when needed. John had an excellent sense of humour and was always good for a laugh. While he could be strict in his younger years, he softened immensely with age; he is remembered for who his is now and not then. John is survived by his wife, Lucy Day, sons Scott (Tamara) their children Jaidyn and Justin (Jo-Jo) and great-granddaughter Emma, Mark Day, John Day, Keith Day (grand-daughter Karley) Patty (Donna) and grand-daughter Nicole, Jessica, also his step children Margaret Bannon & sons Allan & Jason, Ian Bannon and daughters Megan & Caitlyn and their children Jace & Jayda and Lisa Bannon (Tara) and 2 step children Mitchell & Natalie. Sisters-in-law Myria, Theresa (Special) & brother-in-law Peter Esquega and numerous nieces and nephews and special friends Father Kroker and Gordan and Melody Bannon. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at St. Anne's Church at 11:00 am celebrated by Rev. Larry Kroker. Interment will take place at a later date.
Visitation will take place one hour before Mass in the church.

John Day will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 9, 2019.

Lucy and Jack's children - We were so sorry to hear about Uncle Jack. We have so many great memories - especially the time he spent helping us build our house at Round Lake. He, along with Keith and Mark spent many weeks working , and sometimes relaxing , with us.

Going to miss a very special uncle who always had a sparkle in his eye, made me laugh and had the mannerisms of my dad. So glad I got to see you before you made your final journal.
Love you uncle Jack
