It is with great sorrow that family and friends announce the passing of John Earl Ewing. John was re-united with his beloved mother and sister on March 4, 2005. Born May 25, 1946, John lived most of his life in Thunder Bay. Most recently, he resided on Tuscany Drive. As a youngster John enjoyed spending time with his family and playing ball at George Burke Park. John often spoke proudly of how he loved helping his mom. A longtime employee of ARC Industry, John looked forward to going to work to spend time with his friends. He took great pride in his work for many years until his health required him to retire. John was an avid sports fan and was loyal to his beloved Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and "The Rock". He was also an enthusiastic member of several special olympics teams, and bowled up until February of this year! Camping and fishing were activities he really enjoyed and spent many summers at Hagi Camp. John was a very loving and compassionate person. When friends brought their children to his home, he would play ball or cards with them for hours. He was overjoyed when anyone visited with their dog.John was predeceased by his loving mother Audrey, sister Earldine, and uncle Russ. Left to mourn are his father Earl Ewing (Rita), brother Barry Ewing and aunt Margaret Poole. John will be greatly missed by his close friends Dan, Glen, Kenny and John; his "girls" Dione, Kathy, Lori, Terry-Lynne, Monica, Lynn, Shannon, Laura, Donna, Cheryl, Marie and Christy; his "sparring partners" Bryan, Jeff and Dave. Also numerous people who lovingly supported John throughout the years and countless friends in the city. John was much loved and will be truly missed.
