John Fogolin Obituary

Mr. John Joseph Fogolin, age 78 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away suddenly in Thunder Bay Regional Hospital - McKellar with his family at his side on Thursday, May 16, 2002. John served in the Canadian Army from 1942 to 1944 and was stationed in Winnipeg. He was a member of the Ortona Legion and was also a 55 Plus Sheet Metal Union member. John was employed at Northland Machinery for many years until retirement, after which he enjoyed wintering in Arizona and spending summers at his camp at Hick's Lake enjoying fishing, hunting and especially swimming. Above all, John's family was always his greatest interest. He is survived by his wfie Adella, childrenEvelyn (Gary) Veneruzzo, Reginald (Betty Ann) Fogolin, John (Sherry) Fogolin, Linda (Bill) Urry and Bobby (Colleen) Fogolin; 11 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survivng are his brother Jake (Eilleen) Fogolin and sister Mary (John) Buckno as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Cremation has taken place. A funeral Memorial Mass will be held at St. Dominic's R.C. Church at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 21, 2002. Interment will be held in St. Patrick's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated. A tree will be planted in John's memory at a later date."
