John Goldring

Mr. John Goldring, age 64 years resident of Thunder Bay, passed away at his residence on Monday, August 25th, 2003 with his family at his side. Born in Collingwood, Ontario, John moved as a small child to Rochester, New York where he received his education. He came back to Canada at age 17 and joined the Royal Canadian Navy. John later moved to Thunder Bay where he was employed with the Ministry of Transportation and then with the Ministry of Correction at the Thunder Bay Jail. He was married to Monika Metzner in 1971. John's main interests were his family, his dog Jack, and his garden. Survived by his wife Monika at home, son Shawn of Petawawa, Ontario (enroute), daughter Liz (Shon) Dufrenne and granddaughter Kallie Dufrenne, and daughter Meghan all of Thunder Bay. A brother Peter (Pat) Goldring of Philadelphia, his mother-in-law Kathe Metzner, and nieces and nephews also survive. Predeceased by his parents and a sister Ann. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.
