It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Marie Antoine Cloutier announce his peaceful passing on Saturday, September 27th, 2014. Tony, as he was most affectionately known, was loved by all he encountered. From his home care providers, tenants and care takers at the lovely St. Paul's place, to the nurses who cared for him at TBRHSC, St. Joseph's Care Group and most recently Pioneer Ridge and of course his many long-time friends at Tree Lakes and Mirror Lake Campgrounds.Tony was always eager to lend a hand and over the course of his life rewired many family homes and camps. Always happy to teach others his trade and give back and led a simple life.He was born in Mont Jolie Québec and grew up in the Québec City Orphanage D'Youville. He moved to Auden, ON after taking a train at the young age of 18 to practice his electrician's trade and there met his wife Eva and her 5 children whom he moved to Current River to enjoy their first home with running water and electricity! He loved puttering and working in his small garden enjoying the most his fresh tomatoes. He composted long before it was the "thing to do" and was the best reduce reuse recycler ever. He also spent many days with his family sharing his knowledge and love of the outdoors. He snow shoed, skied and had many hockey pucks drilled at him by his children in the course of their athletic development and he also gave to many charities and volunteered to help wherever he could.Upon his retirement he enjoyed his winters at Tree Lakes in Florida and summers at his camp on Mirror Lake, where he continued to enjoy his love of the outdoors, fishing, canoeing while encouraging children and grandchildren to "swim the lake".Although he took great pride in his trade he took even greater pride in his family. He will leave to mourn his children, Arleen Hurdon (Harry; Kim, Krista (Lucy) and Guy), Barry Tuomi (Donna; Katie, Patrick (Ryley) Keri, Richard) Darryl Tuomi (Susan; Kandal), Leo Tuomi, Ghislaine Shields (Ken; Candace Robinson, Jason, (Leala); Melissa Sgambelluri, Tony (Tyrell and Dominic), Charmaine Cades (Chad; Madison and McKenna).Predeceased by his wife Eva, daughter Susan, sisters and brothers Joan, Bert, Louise, Charles and Richard.A celebration of his life will take place at 3pm Saturday, October 4th, 2014 at Slovak Legion on 801 Atlantic Avenue, Thunder Bay, ON.Tony will leave behind a legacy of giving to others so in his memory we ask that you pay it forward by doing a kindness for a stranger, as would be his way.On-line condolencesmay be made through
