Joseph Pedri Obituary

Joseph Francis PedriAugust 30, 1985 - March 18, 2005The family of Joseph Francis Pedri is deeply saddened to announce his passing at age 19 on Friday, March 18, 2005 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.Joseph was born on August 30, 1985 in Thunder Bay. He was raised in Thunder Bay and attended both St. John's and Bishop E.Q. Jennings schools before starting high school at St. Ignatius. Joseph took great pleasure in a number of life's wonderful things. He loved music, a love shared equally by his sister. Dancing to the Gypsy Kings blaring on the stereo was one of his favourite ways to spend a Saturday afternoon. He also loved to laugh and he loved to smile. With his little mischief's, he equally loved to bring huge smiles to his family's faces. Joseph loved riding his bicycle and going for walks with his dad. Neighbours greeted Joseph as he toured the streets of Cherry Ridge almost daily during the warmer months of the year. Joseph also loved to eat. He had many favourite foods, however, his all time favourite treat was ice cream and pudding (which he never went an evening without). Joseph loved celebrating birthdays and he made sure that his family celebrated his, at the very least, on a monthly basis. He was a boy who loved to swim with his dad and loved the warmth of the sun; always drifting towards the spot where the sun shone the brightest.Joseph is mourned by his loving and devoted parents Candido and Marcia Pedri, his sister Celeste and brother-in-law Chris Rohr, paternal grandmother Elena Pedri, maternal grandfather Alfred Margarit, great aunt Mary Margarit and Godparents Augusto and Helen Pedri. Joseph will be deeply missed by his many aunts, uncles and cousins as well.Funeral services for the late Joseph Francis Pedri will be held on Wednesday, March 23, 2005 leaving the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley St. at Algoma at 8:50 am to St. Anthony's R.C. Church for the Funeral Mass at 9:30 am celebrated by Fr. . Lino Santi. Visitation for friends will be held on Tuesday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm with the Vigil Prayers being offered at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Wesway or the Lakehead Association for Community Living. "The best things in life are nearest:Breath in your nostrils, light in your eyes,Flowers at you feet, duties at your hand, the path of right just before you. Then do not grasp at the stars, but do life's plain, common work as it comes, certain that daily duties and daily bread are the sweetest things in life.
