Mr. Joseph David Sarnowski, age 70 years passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre. Joe was born on January 31, 1954 in Fort William, Ontario. Joe started his career at young age at Canada Safeway and worked his way into management for over 30 years. After retirement, Joe purchased a sign franchise that kept him busy for next 10 years. Joe had a passion for sports, coaching his kids growing up (hockey, baseball). An avid fan and lover of the Minnesota Vikings. He was passionate about his fantasy football and football pools. Joe is survived by his wife Marilyn of 48 years, his sons Brian (Jessica), Mike (Ericka) and Steve (predeceased), beloved grandpa Joe to Marissa, Samaira, Colsten, Brayden and Rylee, also survived by his many siblings and extended family. Joe was predeceased by his parents Kazimierz and Irene Sarnowski. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 16, 2024 in the chapel of Sargent and Son Funeral Home with Rev. Ed Long Officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society.
