JOSHUA BANNON

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Joshua Michael Bannon, age 35 years, on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Science Centre peacefully with his loving family by his side.

Josh was born at McKellar Hospital in Thunder Bay on March 22, 1990 to Kelly (Crocker) and Walter "Wally" Bannon. He is a member of Fort William First Nation. Josh was educated locally and had a successful career in the construction industry as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Josh loved golf and hockey and was the best at both. His favourite quote "If you ain't First, you're last!". He also enjoyed playing poker with friends and travelling with family. Above all else, family was Josh's biggest passion and time spent together, especially with his kids, grandkids and fur babies Porter, Lily and Cooner, who always made him the happiest. Josh had an amazing sense of humour, was a jokester, and could get a laugh out of everyone. He had a big heart, was the life of the party and truly brought joy to those around him. We will always hold the memories of Josh close and cherish them.

Joshua will be forever missed by his wife Tara MacLaurin; his children Maloree and Kael, and step-children Victoria (Shay), Jada (John), Ava (Jake), Randall, Bella, Shylah (Noah) and Carmen; three grandchildren Jayce, Zayne and Zaara; his parents Kelly and Wally Bannon; Nanny Jessie Bannon; sister Veronica Rojik; nieces Gabby, Alyssa, MacKenna and nephews DJ and Brandon. He is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Bob and Penny Crocker, Candice Crocker, Ton and Judy Bannon, Jan Bannon and Deidre Tabor, Wanda and Carl Bannon, June and Grant Gustafson as well as his cousins, Daryl-Lynn, Shawn (Julie), Michael (Katherine), Wolf, Lindsay, Jessica, Kyle, Charlie, and Cory, and many other nieces, nephews and extended family.

He is now with his Hero Papa Howie Bannon, his Gigi Iris Crocker, mother-in-law Lucille "Mugs" MacLaurin, Great Grandparents, Grandfather, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral Services for the late Joshua Bannon will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 1:00pm in St. Anne's Roman Catholic Mission Church. Cremation will follow with interment at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday evening from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, with Vigil Prayers offered at 7:00pm.
