It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Wife, Mother and Granny, Joy Lynn Marie Clemance Johnson (Brochu) on October 8, 2025, with her family by her side.
Joy was born in Errington Twp., ON and moved to Nipigon at the age of two where she built a life full of love, laughter and Joy.
Joy worked at the Nipigon Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 32, RBC Bank, and she spent many years happily driving school bus for Copp Bus Lines and Ball Bus Lines. Joy was the Manager of the LCBO in Beardmore before retiring. She was also an active member of the Nipigon Fireflies Ladies Auxiliary and the Nipigon Legion, Branch 32.
Joy lived and loved life to the fullest. She had a remarkable ability to light up a room just by walking through the door. Her heart was open to everyone she met, and her love for her family was deep, unconditional, and unwavering.
Mom's most cherished place in the world was Polly Lake, where she found true happiness. Nothing brought her more joy than to open the door in the morning, coffee in hand and being surrounded by her 3 Beauties and her grandchildren. She often said there was no better feeling, and in those moments, her heart was truly full.
Her favourite saying was, "I LOVE IT" - and she sure did love us.
Joy was truly one in a million. We are grateful and honoured to have known her love, her support and her boundless compassion. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
She is predeceased by her Great-Grandson in infancy, Blaine Laframboise, Dad, Hermen Brochu; Grandparents Marie and Oscar Swanson; Uncles, Karl and Gus Swanson and Auntie, Anna Laroque.
She will be sadly and lovingly remembered by her Husband of 52 years, Marven Johnson; her children Jolene (Billy) Laframboise, Jennifer Johnson, and Jocelyn (Tyler) Ryynanen; her Grandchildren Karlie (Miguel) Nadon, Dillon Johnson (Kayla), Drew Laframboise, Jessica Johnson, Levi and Jordyn Ryynanen, her great-granddaughter, Avery Nadon, Mother Caroline Brochu, sister Anna (Brad) Guilbault, brother Bert Brochu, Niece, Mallory Guilbault and Nephews Tristan Brochu and Peter Guilbault. Along with many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and special friends.
As per Joy's wishes, cremation has taken place under the care of Northwest Funeral Alternative. A celebration of life will be held for Joy on Friday November 7, 2025, at the Nipigon Legion Branch 32 Hall from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
