Joyce Pauley Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Joyce Margaret Pauley (Hammill) on May 8, 2010 with her son, Michael, at her side at St. Joseph's Hospice.Joyce was born on September 3, 1931 in Hamilton, ON. She was raised in Port Credit, ON and lived there until her marriage to Clarence Pauley on May 13, 1950. During their marriage Joyce and Clarence lived in Shilo, Winnipeg, Whitehorse, Sydney, Halifax, Soest Germany, and finally in Thunder Bay as Clarence was transferred with the Armed Forces. Joyce worked at the Crest Hotel, New Ontario, Zellers and Golden Star. After her retirement Joyce enjoyed travelling with her sister, June, to various warm and sunny places. Joyce enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends, playing cards with her grandchildren and trips to the casino. She will be sadly missed by her children Debbie, Michael (Linda) and William (Kate), her six grandchildren Jamie, Robert, Sarah, Teresa, Keith and Heather, her two great grandchildren Michael and Alice. She will also be missed by her sister, June, and many nieces and nephews. Joyce was predeceased by her husband, Clarence (1984), infant son (1953), parents Hillard and Hazel Hammill, in-laws William and Mabel Pauley as well as brothers-in-law Victor, Reg and Gerald Pauley and Jack Osborne, sister-in-law Juanita Trenholm. A memorial service for Mrs. Pauley will be held in the chapel of Jenkens Funeral Home on Thursday. May 13, 2010 at 2:00PM with Rev. Matthew Diegel officiating. A private interment was held at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation with family and friends will be held from 12:30 noon until time of the service and during the reception following the service.
