Jozef Kasowski

1927 - 2015

Mr. Jozef W. Kasowski age 87 years, a resident of Thunder Bay, died in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, on Friday, January 2, 2015. Jozef was born August 20, 1927 in Buczacz, Poland. He came to Canada
in 1949 settling in Westfort, where he remained till his passing. He met and married Emily Herman and together they had three children Joseph, Francis and Mary. Jozef worked in the Grain Elevators, retiring from
Saskatchewan Wheat Pool in December 1990. He loved his home and gardening. Jozef was a member of St. Agnes Church, the Knights of Columbus Council 7332, Forth Degree Father Baxter Assembly and Third Order of St. Francis. He also was a member of the St. Agnes Charismatic Prayer Group. Jozef is survived by his children, sister Frances Starczewski as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives in Canada and Poland. He was predeceased by his wife Emily in May 1987, parents Walentin and Mary, sister Katarzyna Gladysz and brother-in-law Bruno Starczewski Sr. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at 12:10pm at St. Agnes Church celebrated by Rev. Sunny Sebastian. Entombment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Prayers will be offered Tuesday, January 6, 2014 at 6:00pm in the Blake Funeral Chapel. If friends desire, memorials to the TBRHSC Foundation would be appreciated.

Jozef Kasowski will be remembered in the Blake Funeral Chapel Memorial Grove. Annual dedication service Sunday, June 12, 2016.
