February 16, 1941 ~ September 24, 2025
Mrs. Judith Ann Behman (nee DuBois), age 84 years, passed away peacefully with family by her side in Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre on Wednesday, September 24, 2025.
Judy was born in Fort William on February 16, 1941 to Amie and Alice DuBois and raised in Murillo. She was educated locally and worked as a Secretary for Paterson and Sons Shipping until retirement. She married Robert "Bob" Behman in 1964 and they raised their family and built a beautiful life, spanning close to 60 years together, until Bob's passing a year ago in August.
Judy's greatest joy was spending time with her family, who meant everything to her. She especially treasured camping trips to Grand Marais, where she created lasting memories with her loving husband Bob, their family, and many dear friends. Judy will be remembered for her love of cooking, her devotion to her home, and her remarkable independence, which she maintained until her final days. She faced many medical challenges over the years with courage, grace, and a consistently upbeat spirit, never one to complain.
Judy will be deeply missed by her daughter Jolene Abick - grandchildren Brayden and Jordan; son Dan (Kim) Behman - grandchildren Nick and Katie. She is also survived by her siblings Lorne, Marilyn, and Brian as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
We are comforted knowing that Mom has now been reunited with her beloved husband Bob. She was also predeceased by her parents as well as siblings Gerald, Eileen, and Ron.
She was deeply thankful for the many caring doctors and nurses in her life, especially the staff at Paramed Nursing, Dr. Klassen, Dr. Anthes, and her thoughtful neighbours, all of whom she often spoke of with appreciation and respect.
Cremation has taken place. Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Judith Behman will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at 1:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. A Celebration of Life will follow from 2:00pm until 4:00pm.
Should friends so desire, donations made in memory of Judy to the Northern Cancer Fund would be greatly appreciated.
