JUSTIN DAY Obituary

JUSTIN DAY August 1993 - October 2023
It is with profound sorrow and much love that we mourn the sudden passing of Mr. Justin Alan Day on October 15, 2023, at the age of 30.

The awesomeness began on August 28, 1993, when Justin was born to Tamara and Scott. At nearly 10 lbs, he arrived almost fully grown and ready to take on the world.

Justin attended St Jude School then on to Pope John Paul II.

At a young age, Justin began his long baseball and hockey career. He loved being part of a team and he took his part seriously. He never missed a game, a practice or a chance to help out a teammate. He gave his all to both sports well into adulthood. After graduating from St Patrick High School, he went on to graduate from the Forestry Program at Confederation College. Justin worked as an arborist for Garden of Eden Tree Services for 9 years. A job he enjoyed which allowed him to work among some of his favourite people.

For Justin, family was always #1. From the beginning and until the end of time, Justin is his dad's favourite fishing buddy and best friend. Justin is the absolute love of his mom's life. They adore each other and not a day went by without a visit or phone call. No siblings are closer than Justin and Jaidyn. They grew in love and respect for one another, with just a few fights and a little bit of name calling. This family always had the most fun times when together and can they dance!!

Tamara and Scott instilled in Justin a deep love for all things outdoors. Although he never credited himself as being an artist, he created some marvelous works of art. Using nature as his model, Justin carved many animals out of logs using his chainsaw. This is a guy truly born to fish. He grew up in the bush, hunting, hiking, camping and of course fishing. More recently, he discovered a love for rock climbing and rediscovered his skateboard. He still carries this love for outside and passes it on to the next generation. Always by his side, his pride and joy, Emma and Hutson. His children are Justin's entire world and greatest love. He is the most incredible, loving dad to them.

Justin brought so much happiness to this world. He has the most brilliant, beautiful smile that knocks your socks off and his heart is made of pure gold. He would give the shirt off his back and the shoes off his feet to anyone in need. He'd even share his pizza. He cared for everyone and everything more than himself. Justin made this world a kinder, better, more beautiful place.

Justin leaves behind his 2 amazing children, Emma and Hutson, his parents Tamara and Scott, sister Jaidyn (John Harasym), niece Maisy. Grandmothers Donna Lyons, Kris Lacko, Lucy Day. Uncles John, Mark and Keith, Jason B, Uncle Fred, aunts Patty and Traci (Jason T) and cousins Nicole & Jessica, Isaac, Ilicia & Ilias and Karley. His lifelong childhood friend, Emil. Dear friends Donny, Eric, Matt and Emma M as well as many more friends that he cherished. And his best buds, Froggy and Buckwheat.

We will all miss him every day.

Predeceased by Grampa Bruce Lyons, Grampa Rudy Lacko, Grampa Jack Day & Uncle Tab Lyons. Justin will also reunite with his best friend Tanner in heaven.

Sing out loud! And dance and play and have so much fun. Most of all, love each other and never pass up a chance to hug. This is Justin's legacy for us all.

"I'll always be ok, mom!" Justin Day

I taught Justin at the college. He was a humble, warm, humourous, intelligent, young man, always supportive of others. I never forgot him. My condolences.

What a shock to open the paper the other day to see that Justin had died. He played baseball for me for two years. His dad, mom and sister were at every game. Player are not supposed to die before their coaches and Jason is the fifth kid I coached over my 29 years of coaching at various levels of Little League who has died before me.
