KENNETH LEONARD Obituary

KENNETH LEONARD
It is with overwhelming sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth (Kenny) Leonard due to long standing health issues. He passed away peacefully at his home in The Pas, Manitoba on September 7, 2024. Ken was born October 30, 1965 and was a gentle and kind soul. His greatest passions were music, sports and people. He mentored and helped many people throughout his life during his careers in music and later on as a PSW. Fishing was also a lifelong love of Ken's, and he spent many a happy hour on the water enjoying this peaceful pastime. Ken is survived by mother and father Luba and Jim Leonard; sisters Lesley Zimak, Candice Cameron, and Stacey Leonard; nephews and nieces Alex Zimak, Joshua and MacKenna Cameron, and Sydney and Sarah Leonard; aunts and uncle Pat Ross and Lois and Bernie Pawlyk, and immediate cousins Karen Hoard, Laurie Henderson, Noreen Enstrom, Lynne Rice, and Lori Botka. Ken is also survived by numerous other extended family members, and close friends in both The Pas and Thunder Bay. He was predeceased by grandparents Mary and Peter Boloty, Apples Leonard Pressenger and John Pressenger, and uncles Gordon Ross and Ken Boloty. There will be no service and cremation has taken place, with burial at Riverside Cemetery at a later date. He will be laid to rest in the family plot close to his Nana and Gigi and uncle Ken. Special thanks to Eileen Totte (St. Anthony's Hospital), Neil Hemauer (Hemauer Funeral Home) and his friend David Zaharia. The family would also like to thank the many family, friends, co-workers and special people that have touched Ken's life.

I am so sorry for your loss. I´ve been thinking about Kenny quite a bit and remembering him with a smile on my face.
I´ve been thinking about family gatherings where he would be stuck with all of us girls but Lori and I always had so much fun with him. He would also randomly show up at our house to talk to Uncle Bernie (and eat some chocolate cake, of course) but then end up outside with Lori and me having a blast.
Kenny´s smile and laughter were incredible. He will always have a special place in my heart.
All my love, Lynne

My sincere condolences to the family, I worked with Ken at Club Soda and other locations around Thunder Bay as we were both DJ's, would visit him when he lived in Niagara Falls and reconnected with him a few years ago.We talked on the phone on a regular basis, I will miss the calls and the reminiscing of days gone by and of course the talk of what records we have or the ones we still needed to get, God speed Ken.
