KENNETH PARKER Obituary

KENNETH PARKER
It is with tremendous sadness and grief that we announce the sudden passing of Kenneth (Ken) Parker on August 27, 2025.

Ken was born on November 23, 1951 in Port Arthur, Ontario. He graduated from Hillcrest Highschool and went on to work at the grain elevators for the entire duration of his employment from a young lad to retirement at 51. Throughout his time with the company, he earned many milestone achievements and gained skills that he utilized in his daily life. He spoke often of the co-workers that became friends he cared for.

In his youth, Ken was involved in Army Cadets, Lake Superior Scottish Regiment in Ipperwash, remembering fondly the friends he made through Cadet training. He was later active at the Karate Dojo on Bay with his twin brothers. He was a charitable man who gave to charities close to his heart involving animals, illnesses that had touched his family and ones that shaped youth.

Ken loved to go fishing with friends from work to many lakes including Lac Des Mille Lac, Hawkeye and more. He was often found on one of our many lakes enjoying the outdoors. He was very fond of his dogs, Danny Boy and Rylee, and would take them to enjoy the lakes and freedoms of the outdoor life, tossing the ball around to keep them active and happy.

Ken was a fierce uncle. He had a strong love for his nieces and nephews. Some of them living with him at times in their lives. The bonds formed during those years never broke. Ken continued his role as Great Uncle and had a special place in his heart for the next generation in our family.

Ken will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Linda Gifford (Selkirk, Manitoba), Joe (Janet) Parker, and Sharon (Paul) Ulvang. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews and the great nieces and nephews who he cherished deeply.

Ken is predeceased by his father Thomas Gordon Parker; mother Dorothy (West) Parker; brothers Thomas Billard, Douglas Ballard, Thomas Vernon Parker; brother-in-law Don Gifford and also his great nephew Tanner Krupa.

As per Ken's wishes, cremation has taken place, and no funeral will be held. A private family gathering will take place next summer, where we will enjoy the outdoors in his memory together as a family. Donations can be made in his honor to the Thunder Bay District Humane Society.
