It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ken Wilson, aged 81 of Thunder Bay, on May 21st, 2018 at TBRHSC, with family by his side.
Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1936, Ken immigrated to Canada in 1961 and travelled to many places before setting down in Thunder Bay. A draftsman by trade, he excelled in the design, fabrication and commissioning of many fire protection systems across Canada.
Ken was a man of many talents, but most notably was a piper with the Thunder Bay Police Pipes and Drums. He was an active Mason, a member of the RCL Branch 5 Colour Party and an avid vintage car enthusiast, participating in many rallies with his restored 1973 BWM 2002.
Ken is survived by wife of 6 years, Beverly vanTeeffelen; sons Alistair (Shayna) and Bruce (Vicky) as well as his grandchildren Duke & Lenny. He was predeceased by his parents and daughter Anne.
A Gathering in Ken's honour with light refreshments will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 12:00 Noon at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5. I crossed paths with Mr. Wilson in my lifetime. He took over care of my cat Elvira when I left Thunder Bay in 1998, I will be forever grateful for the care he gave her, and I think I turned him to develop a liking for cats! He was a man who truly cared about others, had a sense of humor, hard worker, and talented in the bagpipes. He will be missed. A true gentleman indeed. My condolences to his family.

I was very sad to hear about the passing of Kenny. Although I haven't seen him since I moved to Sarnia we do go back to 80's. Kenny will always be remembered by me as he was the person who nominated me for joining the Masonic Order. We were buddies for many years. My deepest condolences to his family. Ian T. Sugg, Toronto.

He was a very laid back, dedicated man with a fun outlook on life. Everything was put into perspective with not much emphasis being put on the little things. He was truly a gentleman,
