Kerry Stacknick Obituary

Hi everyone, it's me Kerry just wanting to say hi and good-bye. Had a short fight with cancer and lost. Who better to write my obit but me?

Born Kerry Wilson on June 16, 1943 to Helen and Eddie Wilson. I had a sister Dawne and a brother Gerry, and I was the spoiled baby. Unfortunately, my family all passed away before me and I still miss them like crazy. I do have two cousins left.

I married my husband, Ted Stacknick, and have been together for 54 years; growing and mellowing together. We have two wonderful children, Traci and Todd who we are so proud of. They have grown into amazing adults, parents etc. Lucky for us, they each had a son 6 weeks apart, giving us two amazing grandsons, Zachary and Logan. We adore them and have always tried to be involved with their activities like school and hockey. They are the apples of our eyes.

Ted's family has all passed previously except for a few nieces and nephews.

For myself I started work at the age of 16 in the medical field which got me interested in learning more about medicine. I worked in this field for 50 yrs. My last job at NorWest was the BEST! Great health care, caring staff, good environment and I made wonderful lasting friendships.

Anyway, that's my life in handbasket. Can't complain, life is what you make of it and I did my best.

Look after my family.

~ Kerry

Todd - so sorry to hear about your mom. She was always so nice to me (not sure I deserved it). I still remember when I was at your house once and she warned me 'don't double dip the knife, Mr Stacknick won't be too happy". And I didn't understand what she meant...until I did it with the mayo or peanut butter and...Mr Stacknick...I then knew what she meant! Lol. Please send my best to the family. Geoff Hill

My deepest condolences to Ted, Traci, Todd and families during this time of sadness. I had the pleasure of working with Kerry for a brief period at the Easter Seals Society; we had many good times. Please remember your mother is always with you, first in her lifetime then forever in your memory. Take care & stay close to each other.
