KRESIMIR SIMAC Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of my father, Kresimir Simac, at his home on April 4, 2024, at the age of 83. He was born March 21, 1941 in Pozega, Croatia.

In his younger years, Dad served in the army of former Yugoslavia. Our family emigrated from Vienna, Austria in 1974, following family members to Thunder Bay.

Dad worked as an electrician with Saskatchewan Wheat Pool 7 until his retirement. He enjoyed travelling the world, his special destination being his winter getaways to Varadero, Cuba.

Dad always enjoyed talking about history and politics, especially with his grandson. During the summer months he enjoyed growing his tomatoes in his garden, or mine. He was always listening to classical music, and he was always playing with his cards (solitaire), crossword puzzles/sudoku or playing dominoes with his grandson.

Dad will be forever loved and missed by his daughter Svetlana Zweep (Rodger) and his grandson Christopher Zweep (Hillary). He was predeceased by his parents Marko and Katica Simac, and his sisters Edita and Vera, all from Croatia.

Our family would like to thank all the paramedics and police officers on scene. A big thank you to Dr. Maria Valente for taking such good care of Dad at all times. Also, to Harbourview Funeral Centre for their assistance and compassion during this hardship.

As per dads wishes, cremation has taken place and a private celebration of life for family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to any pet rescue, Paws for Love or Charity of Your Choice would be appreciated. Condolences may be offered at www.harbourviewfuneral.ca

RIP dad. You are now MY ANGEL IN THE SKY.
If Tears Could Build a Stairway If tears could build a stairway, and memories a lane. I would walk right up to Heaven and bring you back again. No farewell words were spoken, no time to say "Goodbye". You were gone before I knew it, and only God knows why. My heart still aches with sadness, and secret tears still flow. What it meant to love you - No one can ever know. But now I know you want me to mourn for you no more; to remember all the happy times life still has much in store. Since you'll never be forgotten, I pledge to you today. A hollowed place within my heart Is where you'll always stay.
