LAUREEN ELLIOTT Obituary

(DANIELS)
The family of Laureen Elliott (Daniels) sadly announce her peaceful passing on February 24, 2026, following a brief illness.

Born in Fort William, Ontario, to George and Margaret Daniels, Laureen was predeceased by her parents, her seven sisters and four brothers, and her soulmate, her husband of 58 years, David Elliott (2018).

Laureen and David began their lives together in Montreal where they had 4 children and forged friendships that would last a lifetime. David's job later took them to Brockville, where they retired. Summer vacations were spent at Birch Beach in Thunder Bay, where a lifetime of family memories were created. After David's passing, Laureen continued to return to her beloved summer home, where she found great joy in the company of her family.

Family was the center of Laureen's life. She treasured her close relationships, especially with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved all her many nieces and nephews, who fondly remembered her as "Auntie Chickie". She will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, sense of humour and commitment to the Catholic Church. Whether she was volunteering in Palliative Care, helping a friend, or hosting loved ones at the lake, she always brought warmth, laughter, and love to those around her.

Laureen is survived by her children: Denise Pollari (Sam) and Bruce (Carla) of Thunder Bay, Joanne Noonan (Jim) and Brian (Lorie) of Ottawa; her grandchildren Sarah (Ryan), Craig (Dana), Russell (Evan), Danny (Pamela), Danielle (Justin), Kyle (Ellora), and Katie (Michael); and nine great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters-in-law Jackie and Winnie Daniels, brother-in-law Jerry Courtney, and her dear friend Terry Hicks, who made her so happy this past year.

A Funeral Mass will be held on March 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 290 Grenville Ave., Thunder Bay.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a Charity of Your Choice.

My condolences to your family. I had a few chats with your mom over the years when she called to check on my mom (Barb Purcell). I have many fond memories of your mom, your family and trips to Brockville. Our moms (and dads) had lots of laughs over the years.

So many awesome memories of our teenage years. We had such fun and I am going to miss talking to my childhood friend about our escapades, boyfriends and more......Rest in peace Chickie from "Moe" as you always called me. Once Chickie wrote me a note and it said "if all the boys in the world lived across the sea, what a good swimmer Moe would be ---ha ha
