LAWRENCE "LARRY" JOSEPH HEGARTY
Larry passed away peacefully in his home with his loving wife by his side on December 14, 2023, in Elliot Lake at the age of 84. Larry leaves behind his cherished wife Shirley (nee Nelson), of 58 years, his two daughters, Melissa (William), and Pamela, and his grandson Colton. He will be missed dearly by his sisters Madeline, Pat, Theresia, and Joanne, brother Wayne (Barb), and many extended family members and friends. Predeceased by his parents Harry and Kathleen "Kay", sisters Evelyn and Velma, and brother Paddy. Larry will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and neighbours.
Larry grew up in White River, ON, and moved to Manitouwadge, ON with his wife, where he worked for Noranda Geco for many years raising his young family. The family later moved to Ottawa, ON until he retired from Canada Post in 2010. Larry and Shirley have lived in Elliot Lake, ON since their retirements.
We can no longer see you with our eyes, or touch you with our hands, but we will feel you in our hearts forever.
The family would like to give thanks and appreciation to Bayshore Nursing, St. Joe's palliative care program, and Care Partners for their support. A special thank you goes out to Suzanne, RN, Jackie, and Lisa for your compassion, dedication, and amazing care.
There will be no official service held at this time. Celebration of Larry's life to be scheduled in Summer 2024. Arrangements entrusted to Alternative Funeral Services.
