LAWRENCE (LAURIE) O'NEILL
It is with great sadness that the family of Lawrence (Laurie) O'Neill announce his unexpected passing on October 30, 2025 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre with family by his side. Born March 4, 1941 in Emo, Ontario. He was raised and educated in Fort Frances and moved to Thunder Bay in his early 20's. He worked for various companies including JN PITTS, CD Howe, and many others until his final employment before retiring from Bombardier.
After retirement Laurie spent 11 years as a snowbird in Arizona where he met some great friends. He enjoyed travelling with his daughter until 2024 and was passionate about golfing during the summer and going to the gym almost daily during the winter. A wonderful husband, father and grandfather who was ready to help anyone who needed it.
He is dearly missed by his wife Carolyn O'Neill, daughter Jennifer O'Neill, son Kevin Lawrence O'Neill (Savannah Kranjc) grandson: Connor O'Neill, sister Geraldine Code, brother Walter O'Neill, sisters-in-law Marjorie Walker, Debra Spooner (Peter Spooner) and many other sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great, great nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, brothers Kenneth O'Neill & Jack O'Neill, sisters Donna Spalton & Edna Pennarum, and in-laws.
Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service took place on Friday, November 14 at Riverside Cemetery. Father Francis Pudicherry from Our Lady of Loretto Church officiated.
