LAWRENCE WATKINSON-LOWIE Obituary

LAWRENCE WATKINSON
It is with profound sadness that I must advise that a beautiful soul left us on 8 December 2025 surrounded by his loving wife TammyLynn and Phoenix his service dog attempting to fulfill his lifelong dream of traveling on the train from coast to coast and a belated honeymoon. Low was a dozen things to many people. He grew up making many friends. From his high-school days playing football where he made many life long friends to his love of taking care of the ones he loved. He was known as a jack of all trades and would drop everything for a friend in need ...from plumbing to construction and anything mechanical, he would assist with anything needed. Bathrooms, basements, and roofing were nothing to him if it meant he could help. He had many lifelong friends and his "Brothers" were of great importance to him. He loved the house we bought from his mother-in-law and enjoyed watching the changes he could make to the property where he also got married. He was a loving son to Caryll Donaldson and Bruce Watkinson (Lilli). He loved working where he was appreciated by his bosses especially Jason - FedEx and most recently Chris - AMDIRECT. His battle with cancer started in his twenties where he beat testicular cancer and the last two years with one type of cancer after another. He went through many rounds of radiation as well as many rounds of chemotherapy. He never gave up. He was always there with a smile or a joke through all the suffering. He had many people that helped him and guided him through all this. Dr. Faghih, Dr. Anthes, Dr. Simpson and Dr. Ward....you all assisted and took care of him during his battles. The staff at the cancer clinic from clerks to nurses and all the doctors that had a hand in his care he felt much love. His home nurse Connor and truckers stopping to visit, and others who had a hand in his home projects, all his friends gave him the strength to continue. He finally married the love of his life TammyLynn after a nine year engagement. He had an incredible bond with his service dog Phoenix who never left his side through treatment and emotional issues. He will never be forgotten by his parents Caryll and Bruce, by his friends who were a huge part of his life, and his loving wife TammyLynn Miranda-Watkinson. He was predeceased by his grandparents - Marjorie and Lawrence Watkinson, Ann and William Donaldson, his father-in-law Karl Miranda, his mother-in-law who adored him Vina Riddock, sister-in-law Karman Miranda, Uncles Charlie Madder, Don Mckessock and Logan Donaldson. I am so saddened to hear of Lawrence's passing. He was my first best friend when we lived on Marks street. we reconnected briefly in our 20's but lost track of each other. I have such fond memories of our time playing on the block and in his backyard.

Low was a close friend and a brother. We worked together and hung out. I was very fortunate to know Lowie and have him as a friend.
I will miss you brother.
Rest easy Low.

I went to high school with Lowie and reconnected again later in life through mutual friends. Always willing to lend a helping hand and brighten up a room just by walking in it. My sympathy to his family. You will be missed.

My sincerest condolences to TammyLynn, Bruce(Lilli), Caryll and all who loved Lawrence.

As a child, I have very fond memories of Lawrence. He was my strong, talented, older brother I never had, everything I wanted to be at that age. I loved him very much and I guess you could say he was my hero. I remember our parents would play cards together and I would hope so much that Lawrence would come over or if we went to their house that he would be there. We would wrestle. He would always take it easy on me. I´m sure I drove him nuts, but in some of our last conversations he reassured me that was never the case.

I will be forever grateful for all the moments spent with him and forever grateful that he was part of my life.

Added a picture of Lawrence that was always in our house and now it's in mine.

Lowie was one of a kind. I will always cherish the friendship, love and kindness he shared to me and my family over the years. Its quite the understatement to say he will be greatly missed. My sincere condolences to Tammy and all of Lowies family and friends on his passing. On behalf of myself and the Mamalygo family thank you Lowie aka "the Bear" for being one in a million. I got to meet you this summer when you became my brother in law yet by the time I flew back out out the airport it was like we'd been family forever. You will be forever missed.

We heard many stories about Low from his mother-in-law Vina. She spoke very highly of him. He was always checking on her & doing jobs/repairs around her house. We really got to know Low when my husband (Uncle Charlie) & I were in Thunder Bay for medical treatments. Low would always pop in for a quick visit & was always asking if we needed anything. We shared many stories & laughs through our 10 months at hospital. We watched Low quietly suffer through the first bouts of cancer, never complaining just moving forward with determination "we'll get through this." I will always remember his wry sense of humor. Low you will be missed. Rest in peace.
