It is with great sadness and much love that we announce the passing of a memorable husband, father, grandfather, and entrepreneur. Leif Vagn Grann, age 83, passed away peacefully at Southbridge Roseview on Wednesday, March 1st, 2023 with his wife Gail at his side.
Born in Denmark on June 3rd, 1939, Leif was the youngest son of Jorgen and Anna Grann. Leif's parents and his two sisters, Tinna and Kirsten, immigrated to Canada in 1951, settling in Pass Lake. Three of his brothers, Verner, Benth and Ernst, had been in Canada for the past year while Ove and Henning had arrived just two weeks earlier.
Leif and Gail were married December 14th, 1979, after four years dating, and being smitten by the girl behind the counter at Pass Lake Corner. Leif loved being near the water, whether sitting deck side enjoying the view or cruising around Lake Superior, helping Gail catch her prize salmon. Together they enjoyed many vacations and in later years became avid cruisers, travelling to destinations all around the world, checking off their bucket list one trip at a time.
With a successful logging company plus several real estate developments, Leif was well known by many, always planning and on the lookout for his next business venture. Early on his son Glenn joined the logging business, working together for many years till Leif finally settled into late retirement, or at least that's what he called it.
Leif is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gail; children, Glenn (Michelle), Tyra (Brian); grandchildren, Zach, Zoe, Mackenzie, Savannah; sisters, Tinna, Ingrid; brother, Max (Barbara), sisters-in-laws, Phyllis, Inge; and numerous other family members and friends from over the years. He was predeceased by his parents Jorgen and Anna; his brothers, Henning, Ove, Verner, Benth, Harry, Ernst; sisters, Kirsten Mork, Metha Christensen; sister-in-law, Sue; brothers-in-law, Otto Maarup, Kaj Mork.
Special thanks to all the wonderful staff at Southbridge Roseview for their great care and comfort in his last days.
Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at 1pm on Thursday, July 6th at the Pass Lake Community Hall. If desired, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada.

Dear Gail, Tyra & Brian, Glenn and families,
Our hearts go out to you in this time of great loss and much sorrow, I remember serving much coffee to the 'Dane gang' who stirred their coffees with their thumbs, and took great delight in drinking from their saucers. Leif was one of them and he laughed often as he had a good nature. He took loving care of you Gail, he listened to you and honoured your wishes when he welded the hitch onto the front of the motorhome so you could see the boat launch in front of you. May you remember him with all of those good memories and may the Lord comfort you in the depths of your loss of a good man. Hugs, many
