LEONARD NORRIS Obituary

NORRIS, LEONARD VERNON
Len Norris, age 98 passed away on September 17, 2023. He was born January 24, 1925 in Port Arthur/Thunder Bay, Ontario and was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay. While serving overseas with the Armed Forces in England during W.W.2, he met Patricia Scarman, his first love. They later married when she came to Canada after the war. They were married for 52 years until she passed in 1999. Len then met and married his second wife, Barbara Dougherty in 2001 and was married for 18 years until her passing in 2019. He was a loyal long-time employee of Abitibi Price Paper Company at Thunder Bay Mill and later retired as Paper Mill Machine Room Superintendent. Len was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5, St. John's Anglican Church and a member and volunteer at 55 Plus Senior Centre. he loved to travel and spend time with his family. He enjoyed life and his favourite hobbies were fishing and golfing. He is survived by his children Brian (Liisa), Deborah (Noel), Alan, Patricia (Duane) and Janice (David), his 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren, his youngest sister Lillian (Peter) and nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by his sister Ivy, brother-in-law Angus, sister Valerie, brother-in-law William and brother, Ronald. Cremation has taken place, under the care of Sargent & Son Funeral Home. The Service will be held at St. John's Church/The Gathering Table on October 26 at 11 am. Reception to follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 5. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a Charity of Your Choice.
