LEONARD SITCH Obituary

September 27, 1961 ~ October 13, 2025
The family of Leonard William Sitch is heartbroken to announce his passing on October 13, 2025, at the age of 64. Len was born on September 27, 1961, in Fort William, Ontario, to parents Lloyd and Gloria Sitch.

Len was a devoted husband, son, father, brother, and grandfather who will be remembered for his kindness, dedication, and love for his family.

He attended Selkirk High School, graduating in 1979 - the same year he began his career at Great Lakes Forest Products Kraft Mill. During his employment, he proudly completed the Pulp and Paper Technologist course through the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. Len retired from the mill as a Machine Tender after many years of hard work and commitment.

A man of many talents, Len had a passion for cars - especially his beloved 1967 Ford Mustang convertible - and an uncanny ability to fix just about anything. Skilled in plumbing, electrical work, and construction, he built the family home with the help of his family and close friend, Glen.

Len was a wonderful father to his children, Nicole and Matthew, and a proud and loving grandfather to Blake and Hutch.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Debbie; daughter Nicole (Eric); son Matthew (Holly); grandsons Blake and Hutch; parents Gloria and Lloyd Sitch; brothers Brad, Rob, and Wayne (Maureen); mother-in-law Emily Swiderski; and brothers- and sisters-in-law Roy (Lynn), Bev, Sharon (Mike), and Rob (Colleen), along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Len was predeceased by grandparents Alice and Alfred Sitch and his father-in-law Roy Swiderski. He loved nothing more than spending time at home surrounded by family and friends.

Cremation has taken place, and as per Len's wishes, there will be no service. The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff at TBRHSC ICU for their exceptional care. A special thank-you goes to Nadia for her compassion and support on the day of Len's passing.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Len's memory may be made to the TBRHSC ICU.
