Leslie Dack Obituary
Mr. Leslie D. Dack, age 89 years, resident of North Court Street passed away in hospital Saturday June 19, 2004. A life-long resident of Thunder Bay, he was born March 7, 1915 in Port Arthur. He attended public school and high school in Port Arthur. He was a graduate of the University of Toronto in 1937. Subsequently after an apprenticeship with F.H. Black and Co. Chartered Accountants, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant also. For the rest of his working life, he practiced his profession. In 1949, Leslie married Mary Dickinson, a happy marriage which lasted almost 53 years. Les was also involved in a number of community related organizations, and was a long-time member of St. Paul's United Church. During his free time he enjoyed golf, curling and gardening. After retirement, Les and Mary did some travelling and then spent a few winters in their winter residence in Mesa, Arizona.He is survived by his son Charles in Edmonton, Alberta, daughter Leslie and granddaughter Genevieve, Thunder Bay. He was predeceased by his wife Mary in 2002, and by his father Charles and mother Annis Dack. Funeral services for the late Mr. Leslie Dack will be held on Tuesday June 22, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. in St. Paul's United Church, officiated by Rev. Randy Boyd. Interment of ashes will follow in the family plot in Sunset Memorial Gardens. An evening of visitation with the family will be held Monday evening in The EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL 299 Waverley St. at Algoma, from 6 - 8 p.m.Should friends desire, memorial donations to St. Paul's United Church or the Charity of your Choice would be appreciated by the family."
